This weekend, the hubs and I escaped to his parents beach house in the Outer Banks for what I am affectionately calling: #nophonesweekend.
As someone who eat and breathes social media, it was necessary for me. My husband is a lawyer so his phone is usually binging with emails so it was necessary for him as well.
I can’t begin to tell you how refreshing it was! He cheated a bit to check the surf report, but I stayed far away from Instagram until Sunday night.
We took time to sit on the porch (and beach because the weather was amazing Saturday) and go to our favorite restaurants. We also decided to make no plans whatsoever with friends/family that live there.
Being able to live on a whim with no where to be was perfection and you know, we actually woke up pretty early each day we were there rested and ready to take on the day!
As much as I love instagramming everything, I also love the occasional break.
While we were there, I decided to snap a few pics of the beach house…isn’t it stunning?! My mother-in-law has the best taste! Give me all the grey, blue and wood pretty please!
She is so detail oriented and it’s as if the whole house corresponds!
Of course this isn’t all the spaces…the back yard and porches are amazing! I’ll save those to show y’all when it is warm though 😉
For now, I hope these beach house spaces inspire you like they did me last weekend.

Have you ever turned off your phone for a period of time? I am trying to figure out when I can get away with doing it again lol.
I haven’t taken a full weekend off from my phone but I really should. I try to set it aside and live in the moment when I can. The beach house is GORGEOUS and your pup is soo soo cute!

Yep! He is a bernese mountain dog/standard poodle mix…a bernendoodle! Haha
