The impending Febuary 14th…

My poor fiancé…every year he has Christmas, my birthday AND THEN Valentine’s Day back to back…Ah the stress! SO we do not put a lot of emphasis on Valentine’s Day…and I have come to like it that way. You may say, “Why not Brittany?! You should celebrate your love!” And I would say to you, I try to do that more often than one day. Society puts so much emphasis on gift giving that it is nice not to have stress on that day.
Don’t get me wrong, I love flowers just as much as the next girl but I love them as a surprise. On Valentine’s Day they are expected. Want to know what my man got me last year?
Here is my instagram…
Hilarious, right? The doughnuts were so thoughtful and delicious.
{SIDE NOTE: He better not do that this year though with my wedding diet haha}
 Anyhow, I still always like to get him something small and because I love to gift give. And when I tell him I got him something small, it usually doesn’t make him stress about that day.
Here are a few things I have given him in the past and possibly plan to in the future all under $50…
Slippers are always a winner…as well as anything with his fav team on it (in my man’s case the Panthers). I actually got these Reese’s cups for Ryan last year in combination with a duck decoy…silly I know, but he always wanted one (I got his at a second hand store and wrote a note that said “What the duck, I still love you so much!” I’m crazy.) And of course any man loves a good drink so I thought this Whiskey Wedge would be sure to impress! Next, we have the Dollar Shave Club… sign him up for 6 months at your expense and its the gift that keeps on giving! And how HILARIOUS is this card! I couldn’t help but post it. Lastly, some high tech gloves to keep his hand warm when you can’t 😉
All of these gifts could be good for someone you’ve been with for years or someone you just started dating! I hope this gift guide (way ahead of schedule) helps you take some pressure off that day by planning ahead and keeping it thoughtful instead of material.
