Things That Helped My Pregnancy Pains

Pregnancy #2 has been much harder than my first. I have had aches and pains that have been surprising and have made life harder. I am not the type of person to simply accept these ailments either so I set out to find solutions to my problems!

Things that helped my pregnancy pains…

Iron

During my first trimester, I was SO tired. I know it is normal to be tired but it felt like it was beyond anything I felt with Parker. I had my iron and ferritin checked because if they are off, it can make you tired. The levels came back ok but I went ahead and added an iron supplement every other day and I saw a difference!

Probiotic

I feel like I am eating a lot better this pregnancy but my bowels aren’t working as great lol. Enter Modere TreBiotic. This stuff has been magic. Plus two prunes a day 🙂

Pillows

Starting at around 20 weeks, I began getting lightning-like pain in my sciatic nerve. I have no idea what triggered it too. I would be hanging out with friends and LIGHTNING. Sleeping peacefully and then LIGHTNING! Which of course would lead to me screaming and those around me being alarmed. To combat this, I desperately ordered this knee pillow. It made a huge difference! I haven’t had the lightning pain since!

I also ordered the Baby Bub Pillow (get 10% off here) because I never loved my huge body pillow for pregnancy #1 and I had seen so many ads for it. Shipping took a while though, so definitely try to order it before you NEED it if you can. Honestly, I think it has made a huge difference in my low back pain.

I experienced a lot of low back pain pretty much my whole first pregnancy. I remember asking my husband to massage the sides of my spine every night to help it. This time around I have hardly asked him and I believe the Baby Bub Pillow is to thank for that.

Anywhere I go overnight, these pillows all come with me. Its serious business lol.

Bloomers

Probably the worst pain of all has been my pelvic pain. It began fairly early too…maybe 20 weeks. It made simply walking painful! I describe it as my vagina feeling bruised. I actually would feel it very occasionally with my first pregnancy but this was nonstop and I was not a fan.

A local pelvic floor therapist shared about Bao Bei products so I figured I’d check them out (code below). I ordered a pair of bloomers and a belly band. The bloomers can be used for postpartum so I thought the band would be my answer but there was a hiccup in shipping and they sent me two pairs of bloomers. Out of desperation, I immediately wore the bloomers and I kid you not, they changed my life. The pelvic pain was lightened within a few hours of putting them on.

I truly didn’t believe it so I didn’t wear them the next day to see if the pain had just gone away. Nope, the pain was still there. The bloomers WORKED! I now wear them over underwear and wash a pair every day so that I never have to go a day without them.

They are definitely pricy but as I said, I can’t go a day without them and would highly recommend them. Use the code “tilleysthreads” for 15% off your order.

Plus I think they’ll be great postpartum. I purchased a size medium for reference.

What helped you make it through your worst pregnancy pains?
