Welp, it’s been about 2 and a half months since we got home from Costa Rica and I am excited to finally share the trip with y’all!
Let’s begin with where we stayed…
Since this was a big family trip (Ryan’s parents, Ryan’s brother, my parents, my brother, and his GF), we had to find a BIG house to accommodate us.
We scoured the internet and decided on Casa de la Playa in Playa Flamingo and we were not disappointed.
This 7 bedroom home was located right on the beach! It came with an infinity pool, kayaks, and even a team of cooks and housekeepers who cooked for us every day! It was like being at our own little hotel that we had all to ourselves!
Breakfast was served around this large table every morning at 8am and lunch at 1pm! Everything was delicious!
One of the best parts of the house was it’s proximity to a few restaurants. Coco Loco was just steps away and there was also a resort about a mile away that had the best happy hour…

The bedrooms honestly weren’t the most glamorous but they did the job. Although, one of my favorite parts was laying in bed at night and listening to the waves roll in…it was so peaceful!
We are big on family time and this trip was perfect for it…from meals together to salsa dancing on the terrace, we had a blast!
When it came to adventures, we had a ton!
Our trip began with a gnarly spearfishing trip (see it play by play on my insta highlight)! My husband picked up this hobby about a year or two ago and things have been wild ever since 😂. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.
Just in case you don’t know what spearfishing is…it is basically free diving with a speargun with the goal of shooting a fish. There are no tanks, the diver just has to hold their breath and wait for the fish.
As you can imagine, we were pretty pumped when he got this tuna!
After bringing in a few more tuna, we set back to shore and while in route, our captain cut us some fresh tuna for lunch! He even had soy sauce! I was in heaven!
We actually were able to bring a lot of the tuna home to Virginia too! We froze it, packed it in a suitcase, and brought it home! There is still some in our freezer right now just waiting for the perfect occasion 😉.
It really was the most magical experience that I’ll never forget!
While there, we also went 4 wheeling, the boys went on another fishing trip where they caught Mahi, and we went zip lining! Oh, and while the boys were fishing, the ladies got massages 🙌.
Now if we could just get Deacon there…we could stay forever!
YAY! Always love a good vaca!
I’m coming over for tuna 😍😍😍😍😍
