This week I took a trip to my old stomping grounds in Richmond, VA for an upcoming collaboration I am working on (more to come). My day to day look usually consists of casual outfits and if I am being honest, the pajama’s I wore the night before lol.
For my meetings, I broke out my blazer (which honestly hasn’t seen the light of day since I worked in Radio over a year ago) and some of my favorite slacks. This peplum and statement necklace added the perfect touch of whimsy. Plus, I am all about holidays so I didn’t mind one bit that I was rocking halloween colors.
Being in Richmond brought back so many memories! I graduated from VCU over 3 years ago but when I walked down the brick paved sidewalks to meet a friend at the library, I felt all the familiar memories. I remember walking those streets and being stressed about school and my job and my sorority. Little did I know what was in store for me over the next 3 years. A big girl job, marriage, our puppy…those worries that consumed me then feel so silly now.
I then started thinking about the me who will look back 3 years from now. I can be known to stress myself the HECK out…but for what? It doesn’t help me be a better version of me. Thinking of the old me, the current me, and the future me…one thing has stayed the same. I am #blessed. I need to stop stressing and start trusting. #whenlifelessonshityou
