A Year of Rentals from Nuuly

A year of renting with Nuuly

Well, a year has passed and I think I can finally give a verdict on how I feel about renting clothes from Nuuly

Yes, we had a rough patch in May/June (it seemed to me, they had too many customers and too few options) but they have since added more beautiful items.

After a year of rentals from Nuuly, I will continue to do so! Here’s why…

A year of renting with Nuuly

Why I rent clothes from Nuuly:

  1. Options! I honestly don’t get out much but when I do, I want to look my best and feel my best. I have beautiful clothes but every year I may lose interest in some or start to dislike how they fit. Nuuly gives me 6 options a month to add to my closet! That way I am wedding-ready, brunch-ready, heck they even have maternity clothes for if that day comes again! Andddd the options are amazing…brands like Anthro, Free People, AGOLDE, LoveShackFancy, and more (to name a few of my favs).
  2. Budgeting. This has been a big one for me to think about since I recently closed my business. When I rent from Nuuly I know that I’ll be spending $88 a month on clothes instead of whatever cost a random shopping spree I might feel I need would bring my bank account. It curbs my shopping habit too because when I feel the itch to shop, I add items to my Nuuly closet that I may want to rent in the future! Plus the brands I like tend to cost more than I should probably spend…not sure how I grew up to be so EXTRA 😂🙈
  3. It’s better for the environment. Clothing waste is a very real thing. Thrift stores can’t even get through their inventory to be priced and put out. I’ve had items sit for years on Poshmark with no offers. This rental service allows women to share trendy pieces. It extends the life of a garment exponentially.

Oh and a few tips for rentals from Nuuly …

  1. Read the reviews! They help immensely with sizing. People (including myself) try to leave good reviews to help others.
  2. I like to rent at least 1 top and 1 bottom every month in the warmer months (because I like to wear dresses most often) and then in the colder months, I always rent 1 coat/jacket (they have some epic ones) and maybe just 1 dress with the other items being sweaters/tops.
  3. 3. Think through your plans for the month! Do you have a wedding? A road trip? Or are you planning on staying in a bunch? That would help determine if you should rent a chic tee and sweats or a ball gown!
  4. I theorize they have more options first thing in the morning. Just a theory though!

If you have any questions about it, just let me know! After a year, I may be a self-proclaimed expert 😉
