Baby Parker’s Newborn Must-Haves

Newborn Must Have's

Well, somehow Baby Parker has been here for almost 3 weeks now so I thought I’d put together a little list of her Newborn Must-Haves because I know SO many of y’all are expecting a little one soon!

I know this “Newborn Must-Haves” list will evolve with her age but here is what we’re loving so far…

  1. The Halo Sleepsack – A friend with a 2-month-old told us about this and how big of a difference it made in their sleep and I couldn’t agree more! We were swaddling her traditionally (in a blanket) in the beginning and of course, she easily broke free. This turns her into a velcroed burrito and she loves it so much that most times I have to wake HER for feedings.
  2. Nursing Bra – Sooo…my boobs have gotten huge and feel SO much heavier than I am accustomed to so support is so important to me right now. I have tried a few bras so far and this brand is my favorite. I saw it on Barefoot Blonde’s blog and I am so glad I got it (size medium).
  3. Nail File – My friend who told me about the Sleepsack also told me about this nail file. Parker’s nails have been fierce since day 1 and she was scratching her sweet face! I asked the nurses in the hospital if we could cut them and they said no so we had to find another solution. She doesn’t blink an eye at this file and it is worth the price tag. Deacon, however, is very afraid of it lol.
  4. Diaper Bag Organizer – All the diaper bags I look at are so pricy and I honestly am struggling to commit SO I bought a nice pleather tote bag (big enough to fit my laptop, too) and popped this organizer in it and it is working out very well!
  5. Hatch Nightlight – I guess I am not sure if Parker loves this but Mom and Dad really do! The sounds are great and the light allows me to keep an eye on her while she’s in her bassinet.
  6. Haaka – I refer to this as my “catcher.” I leak at TON so I suction it onto the opposite breast that she’s feeding and catch a total of 2-5 ounces per feeding! It has been awesome and we already have a stockpile of breastmilk after just 2.5 weeks!

We are also loving Pamper’s Pure diapers (I honestly can’t see the difference in the coverage between them and Swaddlers) as well as Honest wipes and all their other products.

As for items that were helpful at the hospital…Ryan said his mint chewing gum got him through the pushing (more to come on that experience soon) and our 6-foot phone charger was also great! Honestly, I didn’t feel like I needed much more than that that the hospital didn’t already have!

We are excited to watch her grow and to learn more about her every day! What are your favorite baby items?
