Make it: Hanging Plant

They are everywhere these days…plants in living rooms, in bed rooms and even hanging in stores! When I found a hook in our guest bedroom, I knew it was perfect for a hanging plant so I went to the store and got my supplies.

I will go ahead and disclose that my plant hanger (not sure of another word to call it lol) was too short. I would suggest buying 4 packs of stretchy cording to make it long enough.

In addition to the stretchy cord, all you need is a plant (mine is fake) and something to put it in. After hunting for a planter and failing, I chose a $1 plastic cereal bowl from target.

First, gather all strands of cording and tie a large knot at the end, leaving about 2 inches excess to dangle at the bottom.

Next, tie knots on every two strings about 2 inches up from the large knot. Since I chose 2 colors to work with, I made sure to keep a pattern with the knots (i.e. not knotting two of the same colors together).

Repeat the above step with another set of knots two inches above. This time you are using one cord from the first grouping and one cord from the second to form your knot and so on.

Next, you add your potted plant and hang! Such a fun way to add whimsy to a room!
