Welp… potpourri is pretty much the funniest word I have ever spelled in my LIFE. Anddd I def had to look up how to spell it (I also had to look up how to make it, lol). BUT I made it and it was a success so let me tell you how it did it…
Get your notepad cause it’s a toughy 😉
All you need is stuff that smells good.
I chose to use 2 cinnamon sticks, 15ish whole cloves, two oranges and an apple.
To make the most of the oranges, I skinned them and sliced them. I also sliced the apple. It doesn’t have to be pretty…eventually it will turn mush like anyways.
Next, throw it all on a pot with some water and put it on the stove on high until it boils. Then turn it to low and leave it. Of course you will have to check it periodically (hour-ish) to add water/make sure it hasn’t all boiled away.
The result is scrumptious. Yes, scrumptious. Plus, at the end of the day, you can throw it in some Tupperware and refrigerate it for the next day. It can last up to 7 days! Score.
Why did I make potpourri, you may ask? Well, my candles are getting low and I am not ready to commit to another pumpkin spice candle with Christmas time on the horizon. Plus, having a puppy is basically like adding another student loan to the mix, so saving money is the never ending goal around here.
These ingredients were already in my kitchen and it took just a moment to turn them into something magical. My house smells like straight up Thanksgiving and I love it.
Have you ever made boil potpourri? If so, what did you make it out of? I am dying to try more combinations!
I’ve never done this before! What a great idea!

That’s a great idea to save money & not buy candles!!
This is such a great idea! I’m not much of a candle person (I know right ?!), so maybe I’ll like this option better? And it looks so pretty, so I’m definitely going to try it!
Ooh this looks awesome! I’ve never even thought about making potpourri.
I know it smells good just by looking at the gorg picture haha. this is such a cool idea! I feel like it might also make a good gift for like my mom or someone x
Oh I am making this next week actually! It’s been on my to do list for days now!
