For those of you that may not know, Tilley’s Threads began with the “threads” you see pictured above. Way before I even knew what the heck a blog was, I was knotting these bad boys into bracelets and selling them at the pool as Tilley’s Threads. They were quite the hit and I got the bug to make one this week so I figured I would show y’all my process. 

Begin by choosing your embroidery thread colors. I used 6 for this bracelet but the possibilities are truly endless. Cut at least one yard of each color, fold in half and knot. 

Next, attach the knot to your clipboard and lay out the stings in the order you’d like the colors. My colors mirror each other because of the pattern I chose.

Thennnn…things get a little intricate and I am going to refer you to this youtube video. Maybe one day I will make a video of my own, but this should give you the technique to get started. 

Here is the finished product! It has been years since I have wore one of these but I don’t see myself taking it off anytime soon! Happy Monday!
