I was talking to a friend the other day about shopping. She was surprised to hear that I hate going shopping in stores (with the exception of boutiques) because I get overwhelmed and I am almost always hunting for something specific.
I can’t remember the last time I walked into a store without a mission. And consequently, I can’t remember the last time I walked out of a store feeling like I have accomplished said mission. Talk about let down. So I started to ask myself, “how can one be good at shopping but hate the act of shopping (in a store)?”
I think the answer (outside of stalking other bloggers via LIKEtoKNOWit) is that I know what I like. I know what brands I like and I know what materials I like. Also, I know what brands and materials have longevity in my closet and that is SO important to me.
4 years ago I bought a waffle knit sweater from H&M. I still have that sweater and know that I will wear it just as much this winter as I did last winter.
So, when I decided I wanted stock up on a few sweaters for the coming winter, I went to forever21.com and typed in “waffle knit sweater” and this sweater came up. Immediately I added it to my cart with a few other items (like this amazing sweater) to make the shipping minimum. A few of those items were a little risky but Forever 21 allows you to return in store simply and painlessly which is an extremely important factor if you’re going to shop successfully online.
As for brands, if you follow me on Instagram then you’d know that I posted a sweater that I loved from last year that is back in stock this year (shop here). This is where my love for brands comes in…since Macy’s is another easy store to return items if needed and Maison Jules has become one of my tried and true favorites there, I knew the sweater would be a winner and it has been!
So what am I getting at? Glad you asked.
I learned that I don’t have time to rummage for a waffle knit sweater in about a million other sweaters and shopping online helps me immensely with my daily life time crunch lol.
So, I would suggest to you to buy this waffle knit sweater.
Lol. Jk (kinda). I would suggest to you to look in your closet at items you’ve loved for over a year and look to buy similar items…wether it be texture or brand, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Good luck!
Also, PSA the jeans in this post are my NEWEST addiction. They’ve got a band around the stomach that squeezes you in the best kind of way. I am wearing a 2P.
Happy shopping!
I love the texture and color of this sweater together! Those sleeves look so cozy and still very high-end fashion-y at the same time! Gotta love a well structured sleeve!
These photos are great and love that cozy sweater!

I’ve been needing some new sweaters in my closest but like you, feel overwhelmed when I go to a store and see the huge variety. I’m going to visit some online stores to hopefully narrow things down, too!
