How I Stay Focused: Apps and All

how I stay focused

Shout out to all y’all who sent me love over last week’s blog post about being your own boss!

On thing I mentioned in that post was about staying focused (i.e. not napping)…I talked about how living up to my husbands belief in me is what keeps me going but it is so easy to get distracted in the day to day life. As an entrepreneur I need to try to make the most of every second I have so I have complied a list of tools that have helped me so far.

I am by no means a business wiz. I am definitely a figure it out as I go type of person (which is probably not the best mentality) so please don’t be appalled by any of my statements below. If you have a better tool, please let me know! I am constantly trying to get better and make things easier!

I Stay Focused With:

  1. Toggl – I just recently started using this tool and man is it a learning curve. Not for the tool, but for me! I am SO NOT accustomed to tracking my every second but I see how useful it can be. I found that I was spending a huge amount of time on one thing for a client that I was charging a low fee.
  2. HopperHQ – This is how I program 6 of theĀ 10 Instagram accounts I currently handle. It is $19 per account but worth it. It is bug free, safe, and most of all allows me to program days out. There is no way I could program as many posts as I do in a day manually! (PS use code “Brittany19” for your first month free!)
  3. Podcasts – I know that I am late on this but my new high tech car has opened so many new doors for me including the realm of podcasts. Practically wherever I drive now, I listen to a podcast at the same time. This way I am always learning as opposed to wasting time. Lately GaryVee has been playing in my car. He’s aggressive but he definitely has sparked a few ideas in my head for a few of my clients lately.
  4. MileIQ – Taxes became a big thing for me this year so I am trying to keep track of ALL my write offs including my milage. I use this app ($60 a year I think) because every time I am in my car, it asks if my drive is for business or personal reasons. I have already racked up over $150 in this month alone which obviously pays for the membership easily.
  5. Emaze – Sometimes I make presentations (likeĀ for my instagram class) but I don’t have powerpoint…ekk! Emaze is the perfect substitute. Plus, in my opinion, I think it allows you to look more professional with less work! Score!

Now, please hit me with the tools you love and swear by to stay focused! I am looking for a good invoicing service…suggestions? Thanks team :*
