Make it Monday: Bath Bombs that Bomb

Well, it has been a hot minute since I shared a DIY that “bombed.”

Recently my BFF and I decided that we were going to make our own bath bombs. We gathered ingredients like Epson salt, essential oils, citric acid, and corn starch based off of a recipe we found online. We also wanted them to be pretty so in addition to ordering the molds to make them in, we ordered edible glitter (because you need to make sure that ish dissolves correctly) and dried flowers.

We mixed and smelled and put the concoction into the molds to sit overnight. The next day we checked them and they had not formed into balls. Womp womp. Instead they were glorified bath salts.

I think we mixed them incorrectly and honestly, I can be a little lenient when it comes to measuring. I guess that isn’t really acceptable when it comes to bath bombs.

All hope wasn’t lost though, the balls of salts actually made a wonderful bath and the floating petals made it oh so luxurious.

All this to say, when making bath bombs, follow directions ;)!

Making a bath bomb sounds fun but also looks like it would be a bit tricky. At least the bath still sounded nice even if the bath bomb didn’t turn out quite like you hoped.
