Friday night, with October on the horizon, I really got into the fall mood. The temps were in the low 70’s, my pumpkin spice candle was burning away, and I was in the mood for a festive beverage.
We received copper mugs as a wedding gift and I mostly keep them out for decoration but after rummaging through the fridge and finding some ginger beer, I went to whip up a Cider Moscow Mule.
It was super easy. So easy that I may whip one up tonight after working (#mondaysucks). All you need per drink is ice, half a ginger beer, a teaspoon of a packet of apple cider mix, an apple for garnish, and 1 shot of vodka. You could even leave the vodka out for a mocktail version and just add a bit of water to dilute the cider mix.
I made one for the hubs and I before we headed out to a networking party Friday night. I used to go to networking parties all the time when we lived in North Carolina but this was my first here in Virginia. We met some great people but the place was packed! Although it was a little overwhelming, the cocktail helped take the edge off lol. I am definitely excited to finally be making more connections here in VB!
This weekend we are also heading to another networking event but this time it is black tie AND at the aquarium. I am so pumped! Dresses and sharks, count me in! Now just to find something to wear…nothing like finding a gown last minute, lol. Suggestions anyone?

My friends and I were just talking yesterday about how we love moscow mules (and how they taste so good that you never realize how much you’ve drank until it all hits you at once. Whoops!). Would love to try this recipe! I’ve never used cider with it before.
I’ve never had a Moscow Mule, but everyone tells me it’s the type of drink I would enjoy. I also love Cider so this sounds perfect!
