1 Year Anniversary, Time Flies

Anniversary

I really can’t believe we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary this weekend. It seems like just yesterday that I was waking up with my girl friends and getting ready for the wedding. Talk about an extremely surreal moment then.

A lot has happened since we said I do. Ryan began his first real job as a lawyer (school for that sort of thing takes a while 😉 ) and I began working as a freelance content manager. We also bought a house and on multiple occasions almost got a puppy.

It is crazy how things have gotten even better for our relationship in this first year. I know they say the first year of marriage is the hardest but that doesn’t seem to be the case here. And if it is, cheers to that because the rest will be a breeze! Well… I guess we did have our first fight over taking care of our darn pool, lol.

We dated for almost five years before getting married but the trust and comfort that has come with marriage has been so unexpectedly wonderful. I say “unexpectedly” because I didn’t know that I could be more comfortable or more trusting than I already was. And I don’t mean in a “sweat pants, hair tie” kind of way. I honestly don’t know how to explain it other than to say it’s my favorite.

Mornings with him are also my favorite. He just oozes love for me. I know, so mushy.

He, like most guys I think, was pretty nervous about taking the marriage step. I know he waited to propose till he was ready. I think guys get so nervous because of the hooplah and supposed chains that come from marriage and a wedding. When it came down to it, we wanted to do life together forever. Marriage affirmed our feelings and made it possible to make plans together.

Plus our wedding was the best day ever. I know he’d agree. And, you know what…the days after it have been pretty darn amazing too.

Shout out to Jenny Megenney for taking these amazing pictures. Y’all, Jenny found me on Instgram when she was coming to visit the Outer Banks and asked if I wanted to do a shoot on a weekend we were already planning on being there! I wanted to do an anniversary session so badly but we were having trouble finding a time. I know Jenny was a sweet kiss from God. Jenny, these pics are so special to me and I can’t thank you enough!

Oh and don’t you worry, we took some outfit pics too…

Love this post! The way you feel about your husband is the way I feel about my fiancé! So sweet. Congratulations on your first year!

We are so blessed to have Brit a part of our family. The first year went fast with so many wonderful family memories. Love you both so much.
