Make it Monday: Birthday Bracelets

Have you ever woken up in a panic that you forgot a friends birthday? I know I have and it is a terrible feeling. Luckily, that hasn’t exactly happened to me lately but a week ago I realized that a ton of my friends were born in August. As someone who loves to give gifts, my mind immediatly went to our finances. We are planning a big trip at the end of the month and I didn’t remember budget for gifts so obviously it was time to get crafty.

I went straight to our storage bench full of my craft supplies (sneakily hidden in the living room) and found these beads I had picked up a few weeks ago in the sale section of my local Hobby Lobby. At the time, they were just too pretty and too good of a deal to pass up so I grabbed them all for under $10. I also dug pretty far into the supplies to find some elastic string.

You can never have too many stackable bracelets and they never go out of style so that is what I decided to make! I cut an 8 inch piece of the elastic string and started threading the beads on…

Once they’re all in place, simply tie the two ends in a knot. Repeat for each strand of beads.

Ta-da! Two bracelets for each person’s birthday!

This might be the cheesiest statement I have ever made but, as I get older I find that the handmade gifts or even heartfelt texts are the things that stand out most to me from my birthdays. We live in a materialistic and busy world, it’s nice to take a moment to do something specifically for someone to show them you care.

The last time I tried to make a bracelet like this I ended up with the beads on the floor haha… But I love the colours in the bracelets! And hey cheesy gifts are the best gifts 😉
