Living Room Update

Well y’all we have been in the house for about a month now and I am loving it! It has been an uphill battle and there is still tons of work to be done (i.e. we have two rooms that are still filled with junk), but it is coming along! If you missed what our living room looked like before, check it out here…now for the progress…

As you can see, the laminate has been removed and the beautiful hardwoods that were underneath have been exposed. This was a rather large investment (because we did the giant living room and 3 bedrooms) but it was completely worth it!

This is our entry way area (as I call it, lol). Every piece that you see we had in our old house, but I mixed it up to give it a new look. The idea of mixing whites and creams was not something I originally wanted to do, but as time goes on I am beginning to love it. The cream pieces almost make it feel more homey.
Oh, and well I guess I added the fiddle fig leaf tree. He’s my baby and I love him. He really brightens the room, don’t you think?

I also added these books to bring some blue to the room. Each is from the $2 bin at my local Goodwill. I checked all the bindings in the basket until I came up with the perfect color combo. I honestly have no idea what any of them are about but they definitely look great…

Again, all pieces from before but rearranged. We need a rug under the table but this area is just about complete.

I had picked up the window at a yard sale years ago and never used it on our condo…I am so glad I held on to it! Top it with the magnolia wreath and you have a very “fixer-upper” look.

This little area is in need of a lot of help. I have been on the prowl for some cool art to put behind the table but it has been a struggle. I can be a little picky but we’re going to be looking at it for a long time so I want it to be a perfect fit. As for curtains, they should be going up this weekend (praise hands emoji).

Next, the seating area! The couches are new and so is the rug…unfortunately I think the rug is going back to Target this week :(. In my opinion it is perfect for the room! I adore the color, its the right size, and it is soft BUT my husband isn’t a fan and I don’t blame him. I guess it is a little girly. Meh. I want him to love the house too though so back to the drawing board.
Last but not least, is our bar cart. It adds the perfect amount of whimsy to the place.
