Decor Day Dreams

With the impending close of our new home, I find my mind constantly wondering to decor! How will I decorate the space we will spend the days enjoying, nights unwinding and the weekends celebrating in?! Of course, nothing will happen overnight (the budget is so real right now, lol) but a girl can dream, right?

For me, decorating is all about accumulating things over time. I love a good deal so I will surely be hunting in thrift stores and craigslist. Also, as a Fixer Upper junkie, unique pieces are so important to me so, antique stores…here I come (follow me on snapchat so you don’t miss out on those adventures @tilleysthreads)! But I also fall victim to Home Goods quite often. My newest fav though has a selection of old and new and it is called One Kings Lane.
Here are a few pieces that are really inspiring me:

1. White Sofa – We actually bought this one this weekend. I know what you are saying about white couches but I did my research
2. Rustic side tables – I love that these have wood tops and black metal legs. Our kitchen counters are black so I want to incorporate the color throughout the space without it being overbearing.
3. Palm Pillows – I already have some just like these. Love.
4. Fiddle Fig Leaf Tree – I really want a real one, but they are poisonous to pets and the hubs is concerned about that because you know…we have so many animals (we have none, lol).
5. Turquoise Vase – I have a few similar to this one and they will definitely make our new space pop.
6. Antique Books – I am blown away by these! All the hard work of hunting is already done for you! And they make such fun accents to tables and shelves.
7. Turquoise Rug – I. Could. Die. So gorgeous.
As much as I day dream, I have been trying to remind myself that my heaven is not of this world. Plus, life isn’t about the things. Whether you take it from Mark 8:36, “For what does it benefit a man to gain the world yet lose his life?” or from Thomas Rhett in his new song “Happy Man,” life is about livin’ right and enjoying every moment.
