Make it Monday: Tassels

I know you all have seen (and probably wanted if you’re like me) this Rebecca Minkoff bag? It screams summer to me and I’d looove to add it to my wardrobe…bbbbut we need to be buying a house not a purse SO, I have decided to make my own leather tassels to add to any bag for a pop of color!
What you’ll need:
– Suede lace (blue from Michael’s, pack of colors from the Target dollar section, get two)
– Glue gun
– Some kind of key chain or lobster claw to attach it with
To begin, cut 6 strands of the lace all the same length (I did 4 inches) and one strand about 6 inches. loop three shorter ones onto the longer piece. Secure with hot glue (photo above on the left). Then, layer the next 3 pieces directly on top of the ones you’ve already glued. Secure them with glue (photo above on the right).

Next, wrap one of the stray edges around the lower part of the tassel securing with glue as you go (photo above to the left). Then cut a new piece of lace the desired size of your loop and secure with glue. Finish by wrapping the last piece of lace around the top half of the tassel and secure with glue as you go and in the end!
Attach to your bag and you are good to go! Enjoy!
