Wedding Wednesday: Gifts

A wedding day would be nothing without loved ones. My family and my bridesmaids helped me plan so much and so I wanted to thank them in the most meaningful way…BUT if you are a Bride then you  know THAT is a lot easier said than done…
Of course I got my girls robes to get ready in (best deal I could find, boo ya), but I wanted to do something more than that…I wanted to give them something that was special. Many nights were spent on Pinterest where I was flooded with images of monogramed bags and pearl bracelets. All nice things but they didn’t fit my personality or my girls…
I decided I would give them something they could wear everyday…a ring. I choose these Dogeared rings because I have wore the exact same ring everyday on my right hand for years. It is so dainty and now I think of my girls every time I look at it. It was a small token of my appreciation but it was full of love.
One gold ring for each maid…
And this multi-metal set for my Maid of Honor.
Then, perhaps the hardest task of all, I had to figure out what to give our parents?!
They had done so much and helped me every step of the way. I wanted to give them a keepsake to remember the big day and to show our gratitude. Again, I searched high and low on Pinterest but didn’t find many options that felt right. This led my search to Etsy where I found these beautiful compasses being featured on the homepage!
I quickly ordered two and had them engraved with “Thank you for guiding us. Love Ryan and Brittany September 5th, 2015.” Guiding us because its a compass…get it? Haha
All joking aside they really were the reason we have made it to where we are in life and this gift seemed so fitting. We are ridiculously blessed to have parents that set a great example of what marriage is about and I am thankful to continue to be guided by their love and wisdom.
The compasses came unexpectedly quick considering they came all the way from Turkey! Ryan and I had them mounted in shadow boxes and each wrote notes to both sets of parents. The finished product was less than $50 each but I pray they see it as a reminder of a priceless day and our gratitude.
